PROCESS | Articulation
Process - High school personnel select
a technical course that awards one Academic Credit.
- High
school personnel contact local Tech Prep office and provide syllabus of class
to be considered for articulation.
- Local
Tech Prep staff contacts college department chairperson/professor(s) and present
high school syllabus for review.
- Meeting
is called to bring together high school faculty, college faculty, Tech Prep staff,
and, possibly, private sector members of Advisory Committee.
- At
meeting, specific details are discussed regarding the "Linkage" between the high
school and college courses. College may request additional information. Tech Prep
staff presents model of proposed 6-Year Plan.
- Tech
Prep staff submits required documentation to the Texas Education Agency.
- After Texas Education Agency approves
the program, they notify the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, who posts
it on their web site.
